Riviera Explora Camps offers turnkey educational trips on the French Riviera, designed for international and IB schools. Based in Hyères, at the gateway to Port-Cros National Park and the Pelagos Sanctuary, our camps immerse students in exceptional Mediterranean ecosystems through field-based learning, scientific observation, and community engagement. From marine conservation to sustainable agriculture and biodiversity action, each program is tailored to your students’ age, profile, and learning goals. Inspired by IB values, each camp helps students inquire, reflect, and take action as eco-responsible global citizens.

This partnership brings IB learning to life. Students explore global issues such as sustainability and climate change while developing practical understanding through hands-on experiences.
Together, Riviera ExploraCamps and Agricampus Hyères share a common goal: to inspire students to better understand and protect the natural world.
Students do not experience the Riviera as tourists, but as young explorers,
observers, and contributors. They investigate marine life, collect field data, meet
local experts, discover protected environments, and take part in hands-on actions
that support biodiversity and local communities.

Discover coastal paths, islands, and unique ecosystems with local guides who know the territory in depth

Observe, collect and analyse data in the field to understand how scientists and protected areas work to preserve biodiversity

Join local associations or initiatives and see how small actions can contribute to long-term change in the territory.

Take part in creative workshops such as perfume making, drawing or sensory experiences that connect art and nature
Students step into the fascinating world of bees at AgriCampus, discovering their essential role in biodiversity and food systems. Guided by a beekeeper, they observe life inside a hive and explore the challenges pollinators face today.
Through hands-on learning, they begin their journey as curious inquirers, connecting science with real-world environmental issues.
Fun fact: A single bee produces about 1/12 of a teaspoon of honey in its lifetime — which shows just how essential teamwork is within the hive.
On board an electro-solar boat, students explore the coastline with minimal environmental impact. Beneath the surface, they discover Posidonia seagrass — a vital ecosystem for marine life and coastal protection.
Through observation and simple data collection, they take part in meaningful experiential learning, linking action with awareness.
Fun fact: Posidonia isn’t seaweed — it’s a plant with roots, flowers, and fruits, and some meadows are thousands of years old.
After an introduction at Fort du Pradeau, students head into nature to take action. They identify and remove invasive species, helping restore local ecosystems.
This hands-on experience encourages them to become caring and active contributors, turning knowledge into impact.
Fun fact: Some invasive species can spread very quickly and disrupt entire ecosystems in just a few seasons.
In the Pelagos Sanctuary, students observe dolphins and whales in their natural environment. Guided by experts, they learn how to identify species and understand the challenges these animals face.
By contributing to observation efforts, they develop as thoughtful and responsible global citizens.
Fun fact: Dolphins don’t just communicate — each one has a unique “name” whistle that others can recognize.
Through agroforestry activities, students explore how farming can support biodiversity and climate resilience. They plant, harvest, and learn why local, seasonal food plays a key role in sustainable living.
This day encourages reflection on everyday choices and their global impact.
Fun fact: A single teaspoon of healthy soil contains billions of microorganisms, all essential to life on Earth.
In partnership with UFOLEP at a local renowned clinic on Giens Peninsula, students take part in a meaningful service experience. They help people with temporary or permanent disabilities safely enjoy the sea using adapted equipment.
This powerful moment develops empathy, respect, and a deeper sense of community.
Anecdote: For many participants, this is the first time they experience the sea again after an accident or illness — a moment that stays with everyone involved.
This partnership connects IB learning with real-world experience. Students explore key global challenges such as biodiversity, conservation, and climate change, while understanding the link between land and sea ecosystems.
Together, Riviera ExploraCamps and the Parc national de Port-Cros share a common ambition: to inspire students to appreciate and actively protect the natural world.
Riviera Explora camps are part of a long-term collaboration with Port-Cros National Park and other committed local partners. Several of our eco-friendly trips have been awarded the “Esprit Parc National” label, which promotes respectful and rewarding experiences in protected natural areas.
This means that our camps are designed not only to limit their impact, but also to help students understand why these places deserve to be protected and how they can act as responsible visitors.
Through this partnership, students experience a unique natural environment and learn from dedicated professionals. Activities include:
